Theme park; duty free and cheap company tax haven; terrible tourist food; appalling development that is even obscuring the Rock itself; home to 60+ on-line betting HQs; old garrison town swamped by commercialism; hard to see the Pillar of Hercules without an ugly building in front of it.

If you can find a bit of the rock not crowded with taxis or obscured with buildings it’s OK.
